Childbirth is a very special time and also one that can be very empowering for women and their partners. As a childbirth educator and doula, my goal is to prepare couples for what they may encounter before, during and after the birth. Along with education, I can provide continuous physical, mental, and emotional support to both the laboring mom and partner through various positions, relaxation techniques and comfort measures. I strive to empower women to trust their body's capability to birth and to accept the process of their own unique birth no matter what it involves. I do not take the place of the partner, but rather compliment his role in the birth process.
I live in and provide services to the Columbus and surrounding areas. I have three beautiful children of my own ages 6, 4 and 2. I have personal experience with inductions, epidurals and completely unmedicated birth. I believe this gives me an understanding of what the laboring woman may be experiencing regardless of her choices regarding pain medication. I can help couples to understand their choices during the birth process so they can make informed decisions. I provide non-judgmental care and believe only the laboring woman and her partner can decide what is right for their unique birth.
